TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's track team returned to the University of Tampa for the Tampa Spartans Classic Friday afternoon. The Moccasins posted top-10 all-time performances in all but one event on the day with a top-three time coming in the 800m.

TOP PERFORMERS
- The Moccasins opened the meet with the 1,500m as nine FSC runners entered and eight finished inside the top-10. Junior Anthony Matthew led the way as he won the event and posted the first of two all-time top-10 times on the day as he completed the distance in 3:50.86 to place fifth in the record book. The first seven finishers were all Moccasins as Matthew was followed by junior Chris Colavita (2nd, 3:54.70), sophomore Simon DeVoss (3rd, 3:55.44), senior Aiden Redmond (4th, 3:57.17), sophomore Dylan Bailey (5th, 3:57.58), freshman Eli Zuppa (6th, 3:57.90) and graduate student Elijah De La Cerda (7th, 3:58.41). The final two Mocs finished 10th and 14th, respectively. Freshman Daniel Welling came across first in 3:58.59 while classmate Andrew Nyland stopped the clock at 4:03.14.
- Junior Luke Reeves was the next Moccasin in action as he competed in the 100m, 200m and 400m. He posted top-10 all-time performances in all three events. His first event was the 400m where he took seventh overall while posting the ninth-best time in program history at 52.59. After a short break he took to the track in the 100m where he placed 15th while tying for the 10th-best time in program history at 11.82. His final event of the evening was the 200m and he took 23rd overall with the ninth-best time in program history at 23.75.
- Matthew stepped back onto the track for the 800m as he led a group of four Mocs. He placed fourth overall with the third-best time in program history at 1:51.56. Just five spots back was Bailey who stopped the clock at 1:58.81 to take ninth. DeVoss came in just behind in 10th while clocking in just three hundredths of a second later at 1:58.84. The final Moccasin was Welling who took 18th in 2:02.30.
- The final event of the night for the Mocs was the 5,000m as 10 FSC entrants finished the distance. Junior Caleb Brady led the way with a second-place finish after crossing the line in 14:49.67. Just 10 second behind was senior Joshua Kraver who claimed eighth in 14:59.72. The next two Mocs finished back-to-back as sophomore William Canales and junior Karl van Gelder placed 13th and 14th, respectively. Canales crossed the finish in 15:13.83 while van Gelder came in just behind in 15:14.02. Sophomore Declan Ziomek rounded out the top-20 finishers for the Mocs as he placed 16th after completing the distance in 15:18.08. The final five finishers for FSC were sophomore Cameron Raney (24th, 15:27.92), sophomore Cole Summers (26th, 15:34.22), sophomore Dillon Mantei (30th, 15:39.19), graduate student Luke Dickinson (32nd, 15:41.34) and freshman Tyler Gaines (35th, 15:44.81).
