Beery Turns in Top-Three All-Time Performance in 800m at ERAU

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's track team finished up the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic Saturday afternoon as the Moccasins entered four runners into the 800m. Junior Caitlin Beery led the way with the third-fastest 800m time in program history while placing 13th overall.
 
Beery crossed the finish in 2:19.48, while sophomore Kira Mothershed stopped the clock at 2:23.47 to claim 22nd. Sophomore Flavia Almeida and graduate student Jinia Johnson finished within three spots of each other as Almeida took 35th followed by Johnson in 38th. Almeida was able to complete the distance in 2:26.84 while Johnson crossed the finish in 2:28.64.
 
The Moccasins will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, at the Lee University – Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn.
