LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 10 Florida Southern College baseball team finished the 2025 regular season with a tie against Rollins College on Saturday afternoon's Senior Day at Henley Field.
The Moccasins (36-13-1, 20-9-1 SSC) had prolonged weather delays in the top of the sixth inning, later ruling a complete game between FSC and the Tars (29-19-1, 18-11-1 SSC). This is the first tie for the Mocs since 2018 and the first recorded tie between a Sunshine State Conference opponent. Florida Southern won the series with 10-2 and 12-4 final scores in the first two games.
Both teams were even at five hits, though Rollins left eight runners on throughout the nearly six innings played.
Mikey Scott, Grant Thoroman, Rohsean Riley, Ahmad Fitts, and
Chris McKenna recorded the hits for the Mocs. Rollins had hits by Joey Rubin, Chris Sparber, Jimmy Thies, Dalton Pyzer, and Stephen Deans.
Logan Adams had the start for the Mocs, going 3.2 innings pitched on four hits and two earned runs.
Tanner Rollyson entered in relief, inheriting a bases-loaded situation with two outs, but was able to secure the final out, leaving all three on with his first pitch.
The game had an early lead by the Tars with a two-RBI single by Chris Sparber. The Mocs cut into that with a sacrifice fly by McKenna in the second inning. Neither team scored in the third or fourth inning, before the Mocs tied the game on an RBI by
Jevin Relaford, 2-2, in the fifth inning. With two outs in the top of the sixth inning, the Mocs had an extended weather delay, later ruled a complete game after five full innings and two outs recorded by the FSC defense in the sixth inning.
The Mocs will await seeding in the NCAA South Region bracket, to be announced on NCAA.com tomorrow, May 11, at 10:30 p.m. FSC was the No. 3 seed entering the final series, behind No. 1 University of Tampa and No. 2 West Florida.
