Florida Southern Finishes 36th in Final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – Florida Southern College finished 36th in the final 2024-25 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings, it was announced this week. The Moccasins picked up points across nine sports including men's and women's cross country in the fall, men's basketball and men's and women's swimming in the winter and baseball, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse and men's tennis in the spring. Men's golf and women's lacrosse tied for the highest finish by a Moccasin program as they each finished fifth in the final sport standings.
 
This marks the 24th time since 1995-96 that the Moccasins have finished within the top-40 of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings. FSC boasts five top-10 finishes in its history including a high of fourth which the Mocs achieved in both 1998-99 and 1999-00.
 
Florida Southern finished fifth among all Sunshine State Conference member institutions in the final standings, trailing Tampa (5th), Nova Southeastern (9th), Lynn (14th), and Embry-Riddle (32nd). Overall, the SSC had six members finish among the top 50 as Barry came in 47th.
 
Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women's volleyball and basketball and men's basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
 
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
