LAKELAND, Fla. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-District At-Large Teams have been released, including five from the Florida Southern College women's lacrosse team and one from the Florida Southern College women's golf team.
Audrey Cannelli,
Brayden Cannelli,
Kolby Cohen,
Charlie Laye, and
Julia Lucas were selected as Academic Call-District Winners from women's lacrosse, while
Clare Gimpel was selected as an Academic All-District winner from women's golf.
Audrey Cannelli, Laye, and Gimpel are all repeat winners, while
Brayden Cannelli, Cohen, and Lucas receive the first CSC Academic honors of their career.
Audrey Cannelli ranks first in the squad in caused turnovers with 48 and third on the squad in both ground balls and draw controls with 37 and 49, respectively. Audrey was named an IWLCA third team All-American, a USA Lacrosse magazine first team All-American, a second team IWLCA All-South Region selection, and first team All-SSC. She was named to both the NCAA All-Tournament team and the SSC All-Tournament Team. Audrey holds a career GPA of 3.85 in Sport Business Management.
Brayden Cannelli was named an All-American second-team selection by the IWLCA. The junior ranked second on the squad in ground balls with 41, while also causing 31 turnovers and grabbing 46 draw controls. She was named to both the NCAA All-Tournament team and the SSC All-Tournament Team. Brayden was named an IWLCA First Team All-Region selection and was also tabbed to the All-SSC First Team.
Brayden Cannelli holds a career GPA of 3.76 in Sport Business Management.
Kolby Cohen received IWLCA All-American third-team honors for being the team's most versatile midfielder. The junior has recorded 131 draw controls, while adding 41 points on 23 goals and 18 assists. She also contributes on the defensive end with 16 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Cohen was named the SSC Draw Specialist of the year, accompanying her first team All-SSC honors, and an IWLCA first team All-South region selection. In postseason play, Cohen was named the Most Outstanding Player of both the NCAA Tournament, and the SSC Tournament and was selected to the All-Tournament Team for both as well. She holds a career GPA of 3.89 in Accounting.
Julia Lucas was another huge part of a successful Moccasin defense. The junior was named to the IWLCA All-South Region second team and the All-SSC second team. Lucas picked up 34 ground balls and caused 30 turnovers on the season. She was also named to the SSC All-Tournament Team. She holds a career GPA of 3.75 in her undergraduate Accounting program, and a 3.8 in her Master of Accountancy program.
Laye was a standout of the Florida Southern defense, leading the team to the program's second NCAA DII National Championship last month. Laye led the team with 44 groundballs, adding 32 caused turnovers and 18 draw controls. She was the Polk County Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year, an All-SSC First Team, USA Lacrosse Second Team All-America, and IWLCA First Team All-America selection, tallying a pair of goals this season and is credited with an assist. Prior to the NCAA semifinal game, Laye was recognized as the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete for Women's Lacrosse, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships. She finished her Master of Accountancy with a career GPA of 3.933. She is a four-time Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and is a two-time First Team All-SSC selection. She was named IWLCA All-South Region Second Team last season and moved up to the First Team in 2026. A 2026 CSC Academic All-District selection, she also earned IWLCA Academic Honor Squad last season.
Gimpel was named to the All-SSC second team. She finished the season ranked #49 in the country and #29 in the region. She won her first career tournament at the National Preview hosted by Lynn at the PGA National Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The senior held a career GPA of a 4.0 in Communications.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
NCAA eligible sports that are included in the At-Large category include Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo, and Men's Wrestling
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
