LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College head men's soccer coach
Ashley Holmes '12 has announced the program's 2025 schedule, unveiling a challenging lineup that includes six home matches at Berend Field and a full Sunshine State Conference (SSC) slate.
Holmes, entering his sixth season at the helm of the program, looks to build on a strong foundation as the Mocs prepare for a balanced schedule featuring non-conference contests and pivotal SSC matchups.
"This year's slate will challenge us from start to finish, with high-level competition both in and out of the SSC," stated Holmes. "We've lined up some tough regional matchups, including games against 10-win programs in 2024 like Flagler and Christian Brothers. We're also looking forward to traveling to North Carolina to take on some different opponents from the CC. The SSC remains one of the most competitive and demanding conferences in the country, and every conference game will once again require our absolute best. Our schedule is road-heavy, with 9 of our games away from Lakeland. That means building a mentality to be hard to beat away from home."
Florida Southern kicks off the 2025 campaign with a pair of road matches in North Carolina, opening at the University of Mount Olive on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a visit to Barton College on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 12:00 p.m. The home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 12 at 4:30 p.m., when the Mocs host Christian Brothers University at Berend Field.
A trip to Flagler College on Sept. 16 rounds out the non-conference slate before SSC action begins.
Sunshine State Conference play begins on the road at Lynn University on Sept. 20, followed by a trip to Saint Leo University on Sept. 24. FSC returns home for a non-conference match with Georgia Southwestern on Sept. 27 before hosting Eckerd College on Oct. 1 in the SSC home opener.
October brings a stretch of tough SSC contests, including road games at Palm Beach Atlantic (Oct. 4) and Tampa (Oct. 15), and home dates with Rollins (Oct. 8) and Florida Tech (Oct. 18).
Florida Southern will celebrate senior day on Saturday, Nov. 1, with a marquee match-up against Barry University. The regular season wraps up on Nov. 5 at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg for a non-conference game.
"With just over a month to go until the start of preseason, our staff couldn't be more excited," Holmes concludes. "We're welcoming a large, talented incoming class and have great confidence in the returning group and the leadership within our locker room."
