LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College is proud to welcome back alumna
Brittany Iamele '21 '22 as the new Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and Creative Media. A familiar face in Moccasin athletics, Iamele returns to Lakeland after a standout professional stint at fellow Sunshine State Conference member Eckerd College.
"We're thrilled to welcome Brittany home as our new assistant on staff here at Florida Southern," stated Assistant Athletics Director of Athletics Communications
Brad Bee. "A rising star in the communications field, she brings talent, drive, and a fresh perspective to our team. Big things ahead for Mocs athletics!"
Iamele, who previously served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Eckerd, led the Tritons' video and content strategy while overseeing a team of student creatives. Under her leadership, the department saw a remarkable 902% increase in annual video content viewership and a 177% rise in annual video content engagement. She also supervised a student team that created 103 new video pieces over a two-year period. Her work earned national recognition, including multiple top honors in the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Digital Design contests.
She was named to the prestigious CSC 30-Under-30 Class in 2024 and currently serves on the CSC Young Professionals Committee, where she helps shape programming and support for early-career professionals in the industry. A two-time finalist for CSC Photographer of the Year, Iamele earned top honors for "Photo of the Year" in the college division in 2024 and placed second nationally in Division II in 2025. She also claimed both the first and second spots in the CSC Division II Short Form Reels category in 2025.
In addition to her award-winning creative work, Iamele served as the campus advisor for Eckerd's Morgan's Message chapter, promoting student-athlete mental health, and held multiple committee roles across the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference. She also led communications efforts on the international stage, most recently as Director of Communications and Broadcasting for the 2025 Pan-American Women's Lacrosse Championship.
A proud Moccasin alumna, Iamele was a five-year member of the Florida Southern women's lacrosse program. She appeared in 54 games during her career, helped lead the team to the 2018 and 2022 SSC Tournament title and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, and earned IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week and MVP honors at the 2022 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
Iamele graduated
summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Business Management in 2021 and earned her MBA from Florida Southern in 2022.
"I'm incredibly thankful to Eckerd College and Amanda Green for believing in me and allowing me to grow both personally and professionally," Iamele said. "That experience truly shaped who I am as a communicator and creator. To now return to my alma mater and serve a place that means so much to me is a full-circle moment. I'm honored to be back at Florida Southern and excited to help share the stories of Moccasin student-athletes."
