Mistretta Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. -  Florida Southern College men's golfer, Tyler Mistretta was named a 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar by Cobalt Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). 

Mistretta was one of 207 Division II athletes to receive the honor. The senior helped lead the Moccasins to their first SSC Championship since 2010. He ended the 2024-25 season ranked 89th nationally in NCAA Division II men's golf while ranking 23rd in the region. He posted a 72.1 adjusted scoring average while competing in 27 rounds. His individual win-loss record for the season was 500-255-31. 

He finished fourth overall at the 2025 SSC Championships while finishing 24th at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional. He went on to finish 49th in the stroke play portion of the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship before picking up a win in medal match play, one of just two Moccasins to achieve a victory.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
