ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Southern College women's lacrosse has been selected to finish second in the Sunshine State Conference according to the 2026 Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Moccasins finished the 2025 season ranked third in the nation.
Tampa finished at the top with 49 points while Florida Southern finished in second with 43. The Spartans had seven of the eight first-place votes while the Moccasins received the last vote. In last season's final standings, Florida Southern finished 6-1 to claim a share of the regular season title, tied with Tampa and Embry-Riddle.
Embry-Riddle took third place with 35 points, while Saint Leo (30 points) edged out Lynn (28 points) for fourth place. Florida Tech (17 points), Rollins (15 points) and Palm Beach Atlantic (7 points) rank 6-7-8 in this year's poll.
The Moccasins open their season on February 8th against No. 16 Wingate on the road in Wingate, N.C. Florida Southern opens its home slate in a non-conference matchup against No. 11 Lynn on February 13th.
