LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida Southern College beach volleyball head coach
Makena Wilson '20 has announced the 2026 schedule as the program enters its second season competing in the Sunshine State Conference and the fourth year under Wilson's leadership.
Florida Southern opens the spring slate on February 14 with a tri-match at the PBA Beach Courts, hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic alongside Warner University. The Mocs continued action on the road midweek for a February 18 tri-match at Eckerd College, facing Webber International and Ave Maria, before returning home to host St. Johns River Community College and Palm Beach State on February 21 at the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts.
The schedule features a strong mix of junior college, NCAA Division II, and Division I opponents, beginning with a February 27 trip to Saint Leo University to take on Saint Leo and Barry. March brings a heavy stretch of competition, including a March 7 weekend at Palm Beach State, followed by a pair of home matches on March 11 against Berry College and Emmanuel University. The Mocs continue with a neutral-site tournament at Eckerd College on March 13–14, squaring off against Erskine, Emmanuel, and Catawba.
Conference play and marquee matchups highlight the heart of the season. Florida Southern hosts Stevenson and Lake-Sumter on March 17 before traveling to Eckerd College March 20–21 to face Eckerd, Lindenwood, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Tusculum. The Mocs then travel to Jacksonville University on March 28 to compete against Jacksonville and a to-be-determined opponent, followed by a key road trip to Tampa University on April 3.
The Sunshine State Conference Championship is set for April 10–11, marking the culmination of league play in FSC's second year as an SSC member. Florida Southern will close the season at the AVCA Small College Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama, April 17–19, facing some of the nation's top programs in one of the premier postseason events in beach volleyball.
"Our schedule is intentionally challenging and reflects the growth of our program," said Wilson. "Competing in the Sunshine State Conference for a second year, along with opportunities like the AVCA Championship, will continue to push our student-athletes and prepare us to compete at a high level every weekend. We're excited about the progress we've made and the direction we're heading."
With a balanced home-and-away slate and multiple high-profile tournaments, the 2026 season positions Florida Southern beach volleyball for another competitive spring as the Mocs continue to establish themselves within the SSC and on the national stage.
