OCALA, Fla. — Florida Southern College men's swimming started the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Championships with a third-place finish in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, clocking a time of 6:29.03.
The A team, led by sophomore
Daniel Meszaros, earned 32 points for its performance, finishing the day tied for sixth overall in team scores.
Meszaros played a key role in securing a third-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, with a lead-off 200 time of 1:36.14, the second-best time in program history. Alongside him,
Will Neville and
Peter Csicsaky, both sophomores, and junior
Simeon Prosinski, the team delivered a strong collective performance with the 6:29.03 time and podium spot.
FSC opened the meet with the B team of
Bennett Baer, Matheus Da Rocha, Jeremiah Goodwin, and
Daniel Cushing swimming the relay. Baer had a lead-off time of 1:39.23 for the 200 split.
The Mocs will resume the championships tomorrow, Thursday, February 12th, at 10:00 AM with Day 2 prelims. Events for the day include the 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 1000 freestyle. The evening finals will include the last heat of the 1000 free and 200 medley relay competitions.
