EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The No. 9 Florida Southern College men's swimming team had a productive day four of the NCAA Swimming Championships on Friday at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
Highlighting today's events was a new program record in the 200 fly by
Daniel Meszaros (1:45.55) and fifth place/program record for the A team in the 200 free relay (1:18.41).
The Moccasins sit in 10
th place with 124 points with one more day of competition. The leader is Drury University with 384 points, followed closely by the University of Tampa with 381.5 points. Colorado Mesa University is in third with 330 points.
For the evening finals, Meszaros was the sole Moccasin with an individual swim, taking part in the 200 fly. In the consolation final, Meszaros finished with a time of 1:45.55 for the new program record and 11
th place overall.
The final event of the evening was the 200 free relay, as a team of
Nino Viallon, Matheus Da Rocha, Michael Tretyakov, and
Will Neville placed fifth overall with a time of 1:18.41, breaking the program record.
In prelims,
Peter Csicsaky represented the Mocs in the 500 free, finishing in 32
nd overall with a time of 4:34.64. Tretyakov swam in the 100 back, finishing with a time of 48.68 for 25
th overall. Meszaros took part in the 200 fly, making his evening invite with a time of 1:45.62 for 10
th place overall.
The final day of competition will feature the 100 free, 200 breast, and 400 free relay. Events will begin with prelims at 11:00 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
