LAKELAND, Fla. - A chilly start to the Lady Moc Classic saw No. 14 Florida Southern Women's golf team open their home tournament tied-seventh after day one at the Grasslands Golf & Country Club on Monday afternoon. As a team, the Mocs shot 621 (+45), and also have four individuals competing in the tournament.
Ava La Belle and Taylor Zachary are tied for the team lead at tied-15th. Both posted scores of 153, with La Belle shooting 74 in the second round and Zachary shooting a 75 in the second round. Zachary made two eagles on the day, both on hole 12 in each round.
Clare Gimpel and McKinley Holding, who competed as an individual, finished the day tied-22nd. Gimpel shot 77 in both rounds, while Holding shot a 75 in the first round. Gimpel carded three birdies in round two.
Kaley Amuso and Darby Hancock rounded out the Moccasin lineup in 56th, and 69th, respectively. Amuso shot a 17-over, 161, while Hancock shot 164 (+20).
Christina Nordlander, McKinlee Proctor, and Susie Davis all competed as individuals and finished 79th, 88th, and 93rd, respectively.
Barry currently leads the field at 27-over. Amely Bochaton (Wingate) is the individual leader after two rounds, shooting a 3-under 141.
