LONGWOOD, Fla. - A rainy start to the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational saw the No. 13 Florida Southern women's golf team tied-fifth after the first round of play. Round two was started but canceled due to weather conditions.
McKinley Holding led the Moccasins in the first round, shooting an even 72. She carded three birdies and 12 pars for a tied-fifth placement after the opening round.
Taylor Zachary competed as an individual and shot a two-over 74 in the opening round. She leads all individuals competing in the field and finished the round tied-12th.
Ava La Belle opened the tournament one stroke off Zachary, shooting a 3-over 75. Kaley Amuso finished the round one stroke off La Belle, shooting a 4-over 76. La Belle sits tied-14th while Amuso sits tied-21st. Amuso led the Mocs with four birdies in the round.
Darby Hancock finished the round tied-26th with a 5-over 77. Clare Gimpel rounded out the Moccasin lineup as one of three Florida Southern golfers opening tied-40th. McKinlee Proctor and Christina Nordlander both competed as individuals and finished the round tied with Gimpel, shooting an 8-over 80.
Susie Davis was the final individual to compete for the Moccasins and finished tied-54th, shooting a 19-over round of 91.

The Moccasins will play a final round of 18 tomorrow to close out the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at the Legacy Club At Alaqua Lakes hosted by Rollins.
