Miller, Corso, and Dalton earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Teams have been released to include three from the Florida Southern College men's basketball team.

Amare Miller, Brady Corso, and Charlie Dalton, have all been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Teams. This honor, awarded for the 2025-26 academic year, highlights the outstanding balance these student-athletes have achieved between their academic pursuits and their commitments on the basketball court.

The Academic All-District recognition is a prestigious accolade that underscores the significant academic achievements of student-athletes who not only excel in their sport but also maintain a strong academic record. To qualify for this award, honorees must be at least sophomores in their academic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, these students are vital contributors to their respective teams, participating in the majority of their contests.

Each of these three honorees from the Florida Southern College men's basketball team has demonstrated remarkable dedication and discipline.

Amare Miller, a 6-5 senior forward from White Plains, N.Y. concluded his career with a standout season in the Moccasin uniform, while maintaining a 3.52 career GPA pursuing a degree in Psychology. Miller has raked in several post-season accolades, including being named NABC All-District second team, D2CCA All-Regio second team, and All-SSC first team. Miller also was a three-time SSC Player of the Week this season. He eclipsed career milestones by scoring 1,000 career points in the Mocs' season finale against Montevallo, and 500 career rebounds earlier this season against Palm Beach Atlantic.

The White Plains, N.Y. native leads the Mocs in multiple categories with 45 blocks, 275 rebounds, 8.9 rebounds per game, 509 points, 16.4 points per game, 213 field goals made, and a shooting percentage at 55.0%. In the SSC, he ranks 2nd in blocks, 3rd in rebounding, 4th in shooting percentage, and 10th in scoring.

Brady Corso, a 6-1 sophomore from Neenah Wisconsin had a breakout season in his first year as a Moc, while succeeding in the classroom with a 3.75 career GPA in Sport Business management. He was an All-SSC third team selection, leading the Mocs from beyond the arc with 91 3-pointers made, and a 3-point shooting percentage of 38.4%. Corso was one of two Mocs to appear in all 33 games, and lead the team in total minutes played with 923. He was also the Mocs' best free-throw shooter, with 92 made free throws and a percentage of 82.9%.

His 3-pointers made ranks second in the conference, only one-off the conference lead, and 20th in Division II. Corso is a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Florida Southern.

Junior forward Charlie Dalton, out of Auckland, New Zealand has been an impressive presence for Florida Southern on and off the court, with a career GPA of 3.75 in pursuit of his Business Administration degree.

Dalton was named SSC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a triple-double against Lynn with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists. It was the 6th triple-double in program history and one of only 15 players in Division II to record a triple-double this season. He scored a career-high 34 points against Embry-Riddle in the SSC tournament. Dalton was also the team leader in minutes per game.

Dalton is a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Florida Southern, and is actively involved in volunteering with the athletics department as the Athletics Convocation Emcee and volunteer play-by-play commentator for volleyball.

The inclusion of these three athletes in the Academic All-District Teams is a testament to the strong academic culture fostered within the Florida Southern College women's basketball program. Their achievements reflect a collective commitment to academic excellence and athletic prowess, setting a high standard for future student-athletes.
