Reed Earns USTFCCCA Outdoor Track All-Region Honors in 10,000m

NEW ORLEANS – Junior Grace Reed of the Florida Southern College women's track team was recently named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region in the 10,000m. This marks the first outdoor track All-Region honor for Reed and ninth for the program overall.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Reed set a new program record in the 10,000m this season as she completed the distance in 34:54.20, becoming the first sub-35 minute runner in program history. The junior turned in the performance at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. in late March.

Reed will become the first FSC women's track student-athlete to qualify and compete at the NCAA National Championships as she takes to the track Thursday, May 21st in the 10,000m in Emporia, Kan.
