LAKELAND, Fla. – Junior
Grace Reed of the Florida Southern College women's track team becomes first runner from the FSC women's track program to earn an invitation to the NCAA National Championships. Reed used a school record performance at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State to earn the invitation in the 10000m.
Reed posted a time of 34:54.20 at NCSU which ranks as the 16th-best time among those entered in the NCAA National Championship. She will be the lone representative in the race from the state of Florida as Allison Kuzma of Hillsdale has the top qualifying time of 33:10.83.
Reed becomes just the third individual in men's or women's track history at Florida Southern to earn a spot at the NCAA National Championships. She follows in the footsteps of men's runners
Mason Jones (2018-22), who qualified in the 10000m at the 2022 NCAA National Championships, and
Evan Quinones (2015-18), who qualified in the 800m at the 2017 NCAA National Championships which took place at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Reed will travel to Emporia, Kan. May 21 for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track & Field National Championships hosted by Emporia State University.
