VALDOSTA, Ga. - The No. 4 Florida Southern men's golf team sits in fifth after two rounds of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional on Friday. The team closed out round one before completing round two with a score of 284.
Tyler Mistretta stays strong in the Mocs' lead, with another under-par round today. He solidified his spot in lone possession of third with a 5-under round of 67, sitting at 9-under through the two rounds. He carded six birdies in the second round, including four straight on the back nine on holes 12-15.
Max Barile started the day closing out round one with a 68. He added two strokes to his total in round two, moving to -2 in the two rounds, sitting tied-14th.
Colton Swartz finished round one 1-over, before shooting 1-under in round two for an even two-round score of 144. Swartz carded three birdies in round two to shoot a 71.
Anthony Monteleone shot even in the second round, bringing his two-round total to 146 (+2). He carded four birdies in today's complete round and sits tied-42nd.
Donte Groppuso rounds out the Moccasin lineup tied-64th after a round of 75 today. He had a strong finish to the round, closing with three birdies and an eagle in his final eight holes.
West Florida and Nova Southeastern are tied for the team lead, both moving up to 15-under in the tournament. Cooper Tendick of West Florida is in sole possession of the individual lead, with a 12-under score of 132 through the two rounds.

The Moccasins will compete in the final round of the NCAA South/Southeast regional tomorrow with a 9 AM shotgun start due to expected weather. Florida Southern will look to solidify their place as one of the seven teams advancing to the NCAA National Championship out of the South/Southeast Regional.
