Terry Jenkins led a quartet of Moccasins in double figures, but South Florida used a strong second half to win Tuesday night's exhibition game, 110-79, at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa.
The Bulls led 48-32 at halftime, then used their size advantage and 70 percent shooting to pull away in the second half. Joining Jenkins in double figures were John Thompson, who had 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds, newcomer David Wood with 14 points all in the second half and Brandon Jenkins with 11.
The Bulls were led by 20 points each from 6-11 center Jarrid Famous and guard Dominique Jones from Lake Wales. Off the bench 6-8 forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick added 14 points and 8 rebounds.
The Moccasins held their own on the boards, matching the Bulls with 43 rebounds. The Bulls, however, had eight blocked shots.
After shooting 38.9 percent in the first half, the Moccasins improved to 42.9 percent in the second and finished the game at 41 percent. USF used its 70.3 percent second-half shooting to finish at 60.8 percent for the game.
The Moccasins play their second exhibition game next Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Miami.
