The Lady Mocs finished their regular season Saturday with a 7-2 home win over Embry-Riddle. The win gave the 14th-ranked Moccasins a final regular season record of 16-2. Embry-Riddle, the third-ranked NAIA team, fell to 13-10.
FSC won two of the three doubles matches, then claimed five of the six singles matches, with Andrea Arguello winning the clincher at No. 3, improving her singles record to a team-best 17-1.
Senka Softic moved one win closer to the FSC career records for singles and doubles wins with victories in both matches Saturday. She won her singles match, 6-1, 6-0, for her 71st career singles victory, one away from matching the record of 72 held by Kim Smith (1983-86). Softic and doubles partner Agnese Rozite won 8-3 to give Softic her 64th career doubles win, two away from the record of 66 held by Betsy Broadwater (1982-85).
The Moccasins begin play Thursday in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in Lakeland, where they are expected to be seeded third.
