Box Score
One lead and one tie - that's all Palm Balm Atlantic could manage against the Moccasins and both happend in the first minute. After that, it was all Moccasins, as they rolled to a lop-sided 90-37 non-conference home win Saturday night at Jenkins Field House.
The win boosted the Moccasins' record to 15-3, while PBA dropped to 3-19. Strangely enough, the 53-point margin of victory is only the second largest for the Moccasins this season. Back on Dec. 11 they overwhelmed Flagler by 54 points, 95-41. The 37 points PBA scored are the fewest by a Moccasin opponent under coach Jarrold Olson and the fewest in a game since the Moccasins held Webber to 36 points in a 52-36 win Dec. 9, 2005.
The Sailfish scored the game's first basket on a three-pointer by Haley Fields, then the Moccasins tied it on Emma Cannon's three-pointer. A 7-0 FSC run pushed the lead to 10-3 at the 16:00 mark in the first half. Up 20-9 at the 8:21 mark, the Moccasins closed out the half with a 21-6 run to lead 41-15 at halftime.
Reserves got the majority of playing time in the second half for FSC and were able to push the lead to its biggest margin, 55 at 82-27, with 4:20 remaining.
Emma Cannon registered her 10th double-double of the season with a 12-point/11-rebound effort in 22 minutes. She also matched her season high of five steals. Megan Dzikas posted her second double-double of the season with a 10-point/10-assist performance. Morgan Lamberg matched her season scoring high with 12 points off the bench, hitting six of seven from the field. Michaela Hawley added 11 points. Liz Fugate led PBA with nine points.
The Moccasins return to Sunshine State Conference action Wednesday night at 5:30 at Florida Tech.
