Playing their second top-ten opponent of the season,  the 23rd-ranked Moccasins fell to seventh-ranked West Florida, 8-1, Saturday at the FSC Courts. With the win West Florida improved to 2-0, while the Moccasins dropped to 0-3.
The Moccasins fell behind early as they lost all-three doubles matches. The No. 3 team of Nathan Leavitt and Charles Garneau had the closest match, losing 8-6.
Ivan Marevic pulled out the Moccasins' lone win of the day at No. 3 singles, topping 16th-ranked Leandro Ferreira in three sets 7-5, 5-7, 10-4. Leavitt and Robbie Palmiotto each won his first set, but ultimately fell in three sets.
The Moccasins will continue their tough early season schedule next Saturday, when they host eighth-ranked Rollins at 11:00 a.m. on the FSC courts.Â
