Mocs Tie for 14th With Rollins at Bobcat Invitational, Crouch Finishes 11th Overall

EATONTON, Ga. - Florida Southern concluded play here Tuesday in the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College and State University by firing a final round 308 as a team to finish in a tie for 14th place with Rollins at the two-day event held at the Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee course.

The 21st-ranked Moccasins, according to the latest head-to-head Golfstat rankings, finished 27 strokes behind tournament champion USC-Aiken, who shot a 591 for 36 holes to win the team title. FSC and Rollins each finished shooting 618 as a team.

Barry finished second as the Buccaneers fired a 594 (310, 284) for 36 holes, while Nova Southeastern fired a 595 (303, 292) to finish third. First round leader, Clayton State, finished fourth with a 596 (299, 297).

Leading the way for the Mocs was senior All-American Tim Crouch (Mt. Vernon, Ohio) as he carded a final round 72 to finish with a 147 (+5) for 36 holes. Crouch finished 11th overall at the tournament. He carded a 75 (+5) in Monday's opening round on the par 70, 6,847-yard course.

Barry's Adam Svensson took home medalist honors as he followed up his first round 72 with a 67 in the final round to finish with a one-under 139. Clayton State's Fredrik Lindblom finished second as he carded a 142 (69, 73), while three players shot 143's to finish tied for third place overall.

In addition to Crouch, who was the Mocs top finisher in a tournament for the time this spring, sophomore Austin Schultz (Lakeland, Fla.) shot a 78 in the final round to finish in a tie for 44th with a 154 for 36 holes, while senior Shane Convery (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) fired a final round 78 to finish tied for 51st with a 155 for 36 holes. Freshman Jason Huntington (Lakeland, Fla.) fired an 80 in the final round to finish 81st with a 162.

The final finisher for the Mocs was redshirt sophomore Alex Carpenter (Westerville, Ohio), who shot an 80 on Tuesday, to finish tied for 84th with a 164 for 36 holes .

FSC will next be in action at the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which are scheduled for April 13-15 at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City.
