MOCS OPEN SECOND HALF OF SSC PLAY WEDNESDAY AT BARRY
Florida Southern (9-9 overall, 3-5 SSC) will open the second half of SSC play Wednesday, Feb. 4 as they travel South down I-95 for an SSC match-up in Miami Shores against Barry (10-10 overall, 2-7 SSC). Tip-off for Wednesday's game is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Health & Sports Center (2,000) on the Barry campus. The game will mark the ninth of 16 SSC games this season for the Mocs and its 10th game away from home on the year overall.

The Moccasins come into Wednesday's game looking to snap a two-game losing skid as they are fresh off a 53-47 setback this past Saturday in its non-conference finale at Palm Beach Atlantic. The loss to PBA followed FSC's 62-46 setback last Wednesday at home to then 13th-ranked Rollins to conclude the first half of SSC play. In fact, the Mocs have won just one of its last seven games with the only victory being a 90-85 road win at Lynn on Jan. 24. That win snapped a season high four game losing skid for the Mocs.

The nine victories this season are two more than the Mocs won all of last season, while its three SSC wins are most for the program since the 2012-13 season when the Mocs went 4-12 in league play.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BARRY
The Mocs have faced Barry 58 times in school history and the Mocs lead the all-time series, 43-15. The Mocs have won two straight games in the series and seven of the last 10 meetings overall, including picking up a 70-67 win earlier this season in Lakeland. FSC leads the series, 24-4 in Lakeland and also holds a 17-9 lead in the series in Miami Shores. The series is tied 2-2 on neutral courts. The Mocs have won four of the last five games in the series at Barry with the Bucs only win coming during the 2012-13 season as they defeated the Mocs, 64-61.

MOCS LOOKING TO RETURN TO WIN COLUMN
The Mocs will hit the court Wednesday looking to return to the win column as they enter the Barry game having dropped two straight games and six of its last seven games overall. Since opening SSC play with its win over Barry, the Mocs have posted a 2-5 record with the wins coming at Saint Leo (81-80) and at Lynn (90-85).

THOMPSON CLIMBING CAREER 3-POINT CHARTS
Senior guard Cashala Thompson  is always looking to shoot from the perimeter. She is second in the SSC in 3-pointers made with 2.6 per game, trailing only Florida Tech's Kayk Wilson (2.8). She is 14th in the SSC in 3-point field goal percentage at 36.4 percent as she is 47-for-129 from long distance on the year. Only 24 of her 153 field goal attempts have been two-point shots (she is 8-for-24 on two-point field goals). On the season, Thompson is tied for the team lead in scoring as she is averaging 8.9 points per game.

The Tucson, Ariz., native leads the team in minutes played per game with 32.3, which is sixth in the SSC. She is the only Moc to play all 40 minutes in a game this season and has accomplished that feat three times, including the first game against PBA. Thompson scored a season-high 17 points in the loss to No. 11 Nova Southeastern; she went 5-for-8 from downtown in the first half and finished 5-for-12 from 3-point range. She also recorded 16 points and five 3-pointers (5-for-9) in the season opener against Georgia College on Nov. 14. On five occasions, she has hit four treys in a game.

Thompson is now sixth all time in program history with 105 career made 3-pointers. She hit two treys against Tampa on Jan. 21 to surpass Stacey Ungashick (1989-93) for sole possession of sixth place on the school's all-time list. She is currently seventh on the school's all-time list for 3-pointers attempted with 290. Additionally, she ranked fourth all-time in career 3-point field goal percentage (36.2 percent).

SCOUTING BARRY
The Buccaneers come into Wednesday's home game with FSC sporting a 10-10 overall record and are tied for seventh in the SSC with a 2-7 mark. The Buccaneers have dropped two straight five of its last six games overall with its only win being a 53-44 road win on Jan. 24 at Eckerd. That win at Eckerd snapped a season-high three-game losing skid for the Bucs. Since falling to the Mocs in Lakeland on Jan. 3, Barry has posted a 2-6 record with the only victory coming in overtime at home against Palm Beach Atlantic (82-72). Barry is 5-4 at home this season, but they have lost their last three home games.

One of FSC's biggest strengths is their ability to shoot 3-pointers as they are third in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (34.1 percent) and are making 6.7 treys per game, which is fifth-best in the SSC. Along with being strong from behind the arc, the Bucs are also an excellent free throw shooting team as they are second in the league at 74.1 percent as they are 203-for-274 from the foul line on the season.

Leading the way offensively for the Bucs is junior guard Jackie Perez and senior forward Nyjah Porcher. Perez is averaging 11.3 points per game and is shooting 37 percent from the field, 38 percent from the 3-point line and 74 percent at the free throw line and third in the SSC in made 3-pointers per game (2.6), while Porcher is averaging 9.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and is shooting 39 percent from the floor and 77 percent at the line.
