MOCCASIN QUICK NOTES

* - FSC enters this weekend's action sporting a 9-10 overall record and a 3-6 mark in the SSC.
* - The Mocs have dropped three straight games overall since picking up a 90-85 win at Lynn on Jan. 24. The victory at Lynn snapped a season high four-game losing streak for the Mocs.
* - Despite its loss at Palm Beach Atlantic this past Saturday, FSC finished 6-4 in non-conference action. 
* - Saturday's game with Nova Southeastern will mark FSC's second game of the second half of its SSC slate as they are 3-6 on the year in the SSC.
* - The game will mark the 10th home game of the season and the Mocs first home game since suffering a 62-46 loss to then 13th-ranked Rollins on Jan. 28. FSC is 5-4 at home home this season, including being 1-3 at home in SSC play. The Mocs have three straight home games since picking up a 70-67 victory over Barry in its SSC opener on Jan. 3.
* - Saturday's match-up will mark the second game this season between the two schools as NSU holds a 17-14 all-time edge in the series, including earning an 86-69 win in Davie on Jan. 10. 
* - FSC is fourth in the SSC in field goal percentage as they are shooting 40.4 percent from the field and is fifth in the league in free throw pecentage as they are shooting (68.4 percent) from the line. FSC has shot over 40 percent from the field in three of its last six games.
* - Senior guard Cashala Thompson is second in the SSC in made 3-pointers per game (2.6) and is 14th in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (36.3 percent). In addition, she has hit 107 career treys, which is sixth on the school's all-time list.
* - Sophomore forward Christin Strawbridge is sixth in the league in field goal percentage (54.1 percent) and is seventh in the SSC in rebounding (6.5 rpg).  
* - The Mocs are one of the top rebounding teams in the SSC as they average 38.3 boards per game and are fourth in the SSC in rebound margin (+2.4). Six Mocs have recorded 50 or more rebounds on the season.
* - Senior guard Syerra Davis is second on the teams in rebounds (119) and assists (40) and is fourth in steals (16). 
* - Junior forward Mariah Harris has scored 565 points and collected 411 career rebounds in 72 games as a Moccasin.
* - Mocs head coach Betsy Harris is in her first season as the helm of the program and has compiled a 9-10 record and is 77-37 in her fourth season as a collegiate coach.

MOCS OPEN RETURN HOME SATURDAY, HOST 24TH-RANKED NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
Florida Southern (9-10 overall, 3-6 SSC) will return home to Jenkins Field House (1,800) on Saturday, Feb. 7 as they host 24th-ranked Nova Southeastern (16-4 overall, 8-2 SSC) in a 5:30 pm. SSC tilt. The game will mark the 10th of 16 SSC games this season for the Mocs and its 10th home game on the year and is firts home contest since suffering a 62-46 loss to then 13th-ranked Rollins last Wednesday.

The Moccasins come into Saturday's game looking to snap a three-game losing skid as they are fresh off a 60-48 setback this past Wednesday at Barry to open the second half of SSC play. The loss to Barry followed FSC's 53-47 loss last Saturday at Palm Beach Atlantic in its regular season non-conference finale and its 62-46 setback last Wednesday at home to then 13th-ranked Rollins to conclude the first half of SSC play.

In fact, the Mocs have won just one of its last eight games overall with the only victory being a 90-85 road win at Lynn on Jan. 24. That win snapped a season high four game losing skid for the Mocs. The nine victories this season are two more than the Mocs won all of last season, while its three SSC wins are most for the program since the 2012-13 season when the Mocs went 4-12 in league play. 

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BARRY
The Mocs have faced Nova Southeastern 31 times in school history as Nova holds a slight 17-14 edge all-time in the series. The Sharks have won three straight games in the series, including posting an 86-69 win earlier this season in Davie. FSC hasn't defeated Nova since earning a 73-70 overtime win on Feb. 9, 2013 in Lakeland in a game broadcast on CBS Sports Network as part of the NCAA Division II Game of the Week package.

FSC leads the series, 7-6 in Lakeland, while Nova holds a 10-6 edge in Davie and the series is tied, 1-1 on neutral courts. The Sharks have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games against the Mocs. 

MOCS LOOKING TO RETURN TO WIN COLUMN
The Mocs will hit the court Saturday looking to return to the win column as they enter the Nova Southeastern game having dropped three straight games and seven of its last eight games overall. Since opening SSC play with its win over Barry, the Mocs have posted a 2-6 record with the wins coming at Saint Leo (81-80) and at Lynn (90-85).

SCOUTING NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
Nova Southeastern enters this Saturday's contest ranked 24th in the latest USA Today Coaches' Poll and 19th in the Women's Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA. They have been as high as No. 1 in both polls and were voted No. 2 in the 2014-15 SSC Preseason Poll, a mere one point behind Tampa.

The Sharks come into the game sporting a 16-4 overall record and are sitting a tie for second place in the SSC standings with an 8-2 record. NSU has reeled off four straight wins since suffering a 66-60 loss at Palm Beach Atlantic on Jan. 21. NSU's latest win in the streak came at home on Wednesday as they collected a 69-66 overtime victory against Eckerd. In SSC play, NSU has won five straight games since falling at Rollins (74-61) on Jan. 14.

Senior guard Danielle Robinson lead the way for the Sharks as she is averaging 14.1 points per game and is shooting 44 percent from the field, 36 percent from the 3-point line and 73 percent at the line. In addition to Robinson, redshirt senior forward Jasmine Wilkins is averaging 13.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and is shooting 62 percent from the field and has blocked 29 shots in 20 games, while sophomore forward Kayla Wright is averaging 11.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game and is shooting 58 percent from the floor. 

The Sharks have a fourth player averaging in double figures on the season as redshirt junior guard Monaya Merritt, who is a transfer from Temple, is averaging 10.3 points and 4.8 boards per game and has dished out 79 assists and collected a team-best 50 steals. 

As a team, the Sharks are averaging 73.2 points per game and are shooting 47 percent from the field, 35 percent from the 3-point line and have scored 70 or more points in 13 games, but has been held to less than 70 in three consecutive games. On defense, NSU is allowing 63.7 points per game and their opponents are shooting 38 percent from the field and 32 percent from the 3-point line and are averaging 10.5 steals per game.
