Box Score DENVER, CO - Florida Southern College women's basketball struggled from the floor as it dropped its second-straight game, a 64-49 setback at Regis on Saturday at Regis Fieldhouse. The No. 4 Moccasins (4-2) shot just 28.3 percent (17-of-60) from the floor as the Rangers (5-0) ripped down 38 defensive rebounds to stifle the Mocs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Florida Southern never led in the contest, as Regis set the tone early by allowing just 10 first-quarter points. The Rangers held the Moccasins to just 3-of-14 from the field in the first 10 minutes of action, and Florida Southern was never really able to get its offense in rhythm.
• Regis was able to push its lead to as many as 18 points (30-12) with 6:32 to go in the second quarter. However, the Mocs went on an 18-2 run over the final 5:26 of the half and trailed just 32-28 at the half.
• The Rangers' lead would remain intact throughout the third quarter, hovering between four and six points for the majority of the period. Regis took a 42-36 lead into the fourth quarter, and the Mocs were unable to get any closer as the Rangers scored 22 fourth-quarter points and limited Florida Southern to 13 points.
• Florida Southern was outrebounded 52-31, and outscored 32-16 in the paint. Regis finished with a 13-4 edge in second-chance points, but the Mocs were better in points off turnovers (17-6) and bench scoring (32-17).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• The Moccasins have lost two-straight games for the first time falling to Rollins and Eckerd to close out the 2014-15 campaign, the latter of which took place in the Sunshine State Conference tournament. Florida Southern also dropped to 1-1 all-time against Regis. The teams first met on Nov. 22, 1998, an 84-51 home win for the Mocs.
• Camille Giardina led the Moccasins with 19 points on 5-of-16 shooting. She went 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line. Jensen Blassage and Anissa Toumi each scored 10 points, while Giulia Simioni grabbed a team-high five rebounds and Elsa Landberg dished out three assists.
• Regis stifled Florida Southern's starting five, holding the unit to just 6-of-26 (23.1 percent) from the floor. The Rangers shot 54.5 percent (6-of-11) in the fourth quarter to help close out the game.

• Florida Southern returns to Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday, when it faces Palm Beach Atlantic at 2 p.m.. The Mocs will then play five-straight at home, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. showdown against Barry on Dec. 10.
