MOCCASIN QUICK NOTES
* - FSC looks to win its 11th straight home game on Saturday, Feb. 27 with a 5:30 p.m. Sunshine State Conference game at Jenkins Field House (2,500) against 18th-ranked Jenkins Field House. The game will mark the 15th and final home game of the regular season for the Mocs.
* - The Mocs are 13-1 at home this season following its 67-56 win last Saturday in its non-conference finale against Embry-Riddle. The only home loss coming to Florida Tech (73-61) on Dec. 5. Since that loss to the Panthers, the Mocs have reeled off 10 consecutive home wins, including five straight home wins in SSC play.
* - Along with being 6-1 at home in SSC play, the Mocs finished the regular season 7-0 at home in non-conference games as FSC has earned home non-conference games against Paine (95-61), Clark Atlanta (94-80), Emmanuel (79-67), Lake Superior State (69-64), Flagler (73-47), Palm Beach Atlantic (83-76) and Embry-Riddle (67-56).  
* - The Mocs come into play on Saturday sporting a 22-4 overall record and a 11-4 mark in the SSC. FSC, who clinched the No. 3 seed in the SSC Tournament with its 67-62 win on Wednesday at Eckerd, has won 14 of its last 17 games.
* - With its 57-55 win last Wednesday at Tampa, the Mocs secured its 17th all-time 20 win campaign in school history and first since the 2011-12 squad posted a 24-7 record.
* - The 21 wins this season has already eclipsed last season's win total by eight victories as the Mocs posted a 13-14 overall record in 2014-15. The 21 wins are the most for the Mocs in a season since winning 24 games in 2011-12.
* - With its 21 wins this season, the Mocs have assured themselves of recording its first winning season since 2011-12 when the Mocs posted a 24-7 overall record. It is the 29th all-time winning season in program history and the sixth in the last nine years.
* - Prior to the loss to Florida Tech on Dec. 5, the Mocs had opened the season with an 8-0 record, which is the second best start to a season in program history and just the second 8-0 start ever as the only other 8-0 start came in 1992-93 as that team coached by FSC Hall of Famer Norm Benn opened the season winning its first 16 games and finished the year with a 25-3 overall record.
* - The eight game winning streak earlier this season was the longest for the Mocs since recording seven straight victories during the 2011-12 season.
* - FSC has had an eight-game, a six-game winning streak, two two-game winning streaks and currently has won three straight games this season. The Mocs have yet to lose consecutive games this year.
* - The Mocs opened SSC play winning its first three games for the first time since the 2010-11 squad opened league play winning its first six games en route to finishing with a 14-2 SSC record.
* - With its win at Eckerd on Wednesday, FSC improved to 9-3 away from home on the season season, including finishing the regular season 5-3 on the road in SSC play. The game at Eckerd was just the eighth road game for the Mocs since Dec. 2 and seventh in the 2016 calendar year.
* - FSC is now 23-13 all-time in SSC openers following its win in this season's league opener over Barry on Nov. 18. The Mocs have now won five of its last seven SSC openers, including winning two straight league openers against Barry.
* - FSC comes into Saturday's regular season finale seeking its fourth consecutive win and they have won sixth of its last seven games overall with the only loss being a 58-53 overtime setback on Feb. 6 at Florida Tech. The loss at Florida Tech was FSC's fourth of the season and all four of its losses have come in SSC play.
* - The Mocs win against Embry-Riddle last Saturday improved the Mocs to a perfect 11-0 in non-conference play this season. The Mocs have won 11 straight regular season games against non-conference foes since falling at Palm Beach Atlantic 53-47 on Jan. 31, 2015. 
* - FSC has been strong in non-conference games since the beginning of last season as the Mocs are 17-4 in regular season non-conference games and have won 11 straight regular season non-conference games since falling 53-47 at Palm Beach Atlantic.
* - On the season, the Mocs have scored 75 or more points in 10 games and have been held under 65 points in just six games as they tallied 63 at USC Aiken, scored 60 in its win at Palm Beach Atlantic, had 61 and 58 in losses to Florida Tech, was held to a season low 54 points in its loss at Barry and tallied 57 points at Tampa last Wednesday.
* - FSC scored over 90 points in its first two games this season and that marked the first time since the 2008-09 season that the Mocs had scored 90 or more points in back-to-back games. The Mocs haven't had more than two consecutive games of scoring 90+ plus points since a four game stretch of 90+ point games during the 1995-96 season. During the 1995-96 season, FSC had 13 games of scoring 90 or more points.
* - The Mocs have had a player tabbed as the SSC Player of the Week five times this season, including sweeping both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week accolade on Nov. 30. Sophomore guard Jensen Blassage (Offensive) and senior forward Mariah Harris (Defensive) swept the award on Nov. 30, while senior guard Sydni Payne was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 23 and was named the SSC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 16. Blassage was also named the Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 11 and Harris was named this week's Defensive Player of the Week (Jan. 18).
* - With their two Player of the Week honors this season, Blassage, Harris and Payne are just the third, fourth and fifth Moccasins since 2005 to twice be named SSC Player of the Week in the same season. Michaela Hawley earned the honor four times in 2011-12, while Emma Cannon was also a four-time recipient in 2010-11. FSC Hall of Famer Lucresia West is the most recognized Moccasin with 15 SSC Player of the Week honors during her four-year career from 2001-02 to 2004-05.
* - With the 21 wins this season, Moccasin second year coach Betsy Harris has improved her FSC coaching record to 35-18 as the Mocs coach. In addition, she is 103-45 in her fifth season as a collegiate coach and won her 100th career game against Rollins on Feb. 10.  
* - FSC's 10 SSC wins this season are three more than they won last season (seven) and is four more than the Mocs had won the previous two years combined in SSC play as they went a combined 6-26 in SSC play as they went 4-12 in 2012-13 and 2-14 in 2013-14. FSC was 7-9 in SSC play a season ago and is 10-4 this season with two league games remaining.
*  - The Mocs 14 overall wins last season were seven more than they won all of the previous season combined as they closed the 2013-14 season with a 7-20 overall record and went 13-14 in 2014-15.  
* - Senior forward Mariah Harris has scored 992 points and collected 600 career rebounds in 105 games as a Moccasin. She enters the weekend needing just eight points to become the 20th member of the school's 1,000 Point Club and became the 12th Moccasin to record 600 career rebounds this past Wednesday against Eckerd. She is one of 22 Moccasins in school history to pull down 500 or more career rebounds and is currently 12th on the school's all-time rebound chart with 600 career rebounds. Harris is also fourth in the SSC with 28 blocks and averages 1.1 blocks per game and is second in the league with a 53.6 field goal percentage, which is 26th in NCAA Division II.
* - Jensen Blassage is second in the SSC with a 1.9 assist turnover ratio and is second in the league in assists (3.5 assists per game) and leads the SSC in free throw percentage at 89.7 percent.
* - Sydni Payne is third in the league with a 79.3 percent free-throw mark and is fifth in steals as she is averaging 1.8 steals per game. 

MOCS LOOK TO WIN 11TH STRAIGHT HOME GAME, HOST 18TH-RANKED NOVA SOUTHEASTERN SATURDAY TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON
Florida Southern (22-4 overall, 11-4 SSC) will be looking to win its 11th consecutive home game on Saturday, Feb. 27 as they conclude its regular season schedule with a 5:30 p.m. Sunshine State Conference game against 18th-ranked Nova Southeastern (22-4 overall, 13-2 SSC). Saturday's game will be the second this season between the two teams as the Mocs fell 81-79 in overtime to the Sharks in Davie on Jan. 16. In that game, the Mocs rallied from a 49-35 halftime deficit to force overtime and then in overtime, the Sharks outscored the Mocs, 10-8 to earn the victory. Harris led the way for the Mocs with 19 points and eight boards, while senior Shaquita Snow added 16 points off the bench in the loss. 

The Moccasins are coming off a 67-62 win on Wednesday at Eckerd to help them secure the No. 3 seed in next week's SSC Tournament. In the win over the Tritons, the Mocs were able to overcome poor shooting from the field by going 22-for-27 from the free throw line, including hitting 9-of-10 free throws in the fourth quarter. The Mocs connected on just 33 percent of its field goals and hit five of its 14 3-point shots in the win. Blassage led the way offensively for the Mocs with 20 points, while freshman forward Anja Fuchs-Robetin added a career high 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her second career double-double. 

SATURDAY'S GAME MARKS SENIOR NIGHT FOR THE MOCS
Saturday's game will mark the final regular season home game for the Moccasins' three-member senior class, who will be honored in a ceremony following the conclusion of Saturday's game. The three seniors this season are Harris, Payne and Snow. Harris is the program's lone four year letterwinner, while Payne is a three-year letterwinner and Snow is in her second season in 2015-16 with the Mocs.  

MOCS WIN 10TH STRAIGHT AT HOME
Thanks to its 67-56 win last Saturday at home against Embry-Riddle, the Mocs extended their home win streak to 10 consecutive victories. The 10-game home win streak is the longest for the Mocs since winning 10 straight home games during the 2010-11 season. With 13 home wins this season, the Mocs have now achieved its 22nd season of winning at least 10 home games.

In addition, it marked the second consecutive season that FSC has won at least nine home games as they posted a 9-4 record at home a season ago. Since the beginning of last season, FSC has posted a 22-5 record at home. 

EIGHTH HOME GAME OF NEW YEAR FOR MOCS
Saturday's game with Nova Southeastern will mark the eighth home game of the New Year. The Mocs opened the New Year with a 71-67 win over Tampa, then picked up a 73-65 win over Eckerd, a 79-53 win against Lynn on Jan. 23 and a 67-53 win against Saint Leo, an 83-76 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic, its 74-50 win against Rollins and a 67-56 win over Embry-Riddle in its last home action. The Mocs have played 11 home games since the beginning of December and are 10-1 in those 11 games with the only loss coming against Florida Tech.  

MOCS EARN 17TH 20-WIN SEASON
With its 57-55 win last Wednesday at Tampa, Florida Southern achieved its 17th all-time 20 win campaign in school history and its first since the 2011-12 squad posted a 24-7 overall record.  

FLORIDA SOUTHERN VS. NOVA SOUTHEASTERN 
Saturday's match-up with Nova Southeastern will mark the 34th all-time meeting in the series as NSU holds a slight 18-15 edge in the series, including winning of the last five games with FSC's only win coming in Lakeland last season as the Mocs picked up a 78-63 upset victory over the then 24th-ranked Sharks.

A WIN WOULD...
• Give FSC its 23rd victory of the season, which would be the most wins in a season since finishing with 24 wins (24-7 overall record) in 2011-12.
• Give FSC its 11th consecutive home win and improve the Mocs to 14-1 at home on the season.
• Help the Mocs win its fourth consecutive game and earn its third win over the Sharks in the last four seasons in Lakeland. FSC defeated the Sharks in both 2013 and 2015.

MOCS HAVE SEVEN MORE WINS THAN LAST SEASON'S VICTORY TOTAL 
The Mocs have now won nine more games than they won all of last season as the Mocs won 13 games in 2014-15 and have already won 22 games this season with one regular season game remaining. FSC completed last season with a 13-14 overall record. The 20 wins this season are the most in a season for the Mocs since earning 24 wins during the 2011-12 season and finishing with a 24-7 overall record.

HARRIS EARNS WIN CAREER WIN 100 AGAINST ROLLINS
Moccasin head coach Betsy Harris earned her 100th career collegiate coaching win following her team's 74-50 win on Feb. 10 against Rollins. She then earned her 101st career collegiate coaching victory last Wednesday at Tampa. She has recorded 35 of those 103 coaching wins at Florida Southern and posted a 68-27 record in three seasons as the head coach at the College of Coastal Georgia.

SCOUTING NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
The Sharks enter Saturday's game sporting a 22-4 overall record and is 13-2 in the SSC. The Sharks, who have advanced to the Division II Elite Eight the past three seasons, has already claimed its third SSC regular season title in the last four seasons and has earned the No. 1 seed in this year's SSC Tournament. The Sharks have won two straight and five of its last six games overall with the only loss being a 67-65 home loss on Feb. 13 against Barry. Since the loss to the Buccaneers, Nova has picked up a win at Embry-Riddle (75-52) and ast home last Saturday against Eckerd (83-64). The Sharks haven't played since that win over Eckerd as they were idle on Wednesday night. 

In fact, since picking up its 81-79 overtime win over the Mocs in Davie on Jan. 16, the Sharks have posted a 7-3 record with the losses coming at Tampa (71-45), at Palm Beach Atlantic (88-73) and at home to Barry. The Sharks are 8-2 away from home this season and have won two straight road games since its loss at Palm Beach Atlantic. 

The Sharks have three players averaging in double figures as junior forward Kayla Wright is averaging 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and is shooting an SSC leading 59 percent from the field. Wright scored 22 points in the its earlier match-up this season with the Mocs. 

In addition to Wright, redshirt junior guard Taylor Buie is averaging 14.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game and is shooting 45 percent from the field and 43 percent from the 3-point line and senior guard Monaye Merritt is averaging 10.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and she has blocked a team best 19 shots and is shooting 44 percent from the floor and 78 percent at the free throw line. Buie added 13 points in the earlier win against the Mocs, while Merritt had eight points, seven rebounds and six assists in the victory.  

The Sharks are coached by LeAnn Freeland, who is in her fifth season as the helm of the Sharks as has compiled a 117-35 record at NSU and is 206-70 in her ninth season as a collegiate head coach.
