DAYTONA BEACH - Four Moccasins advanced in singles and two doubles teams were victorious here Saturday at the Embry-Riddle Open.
Avery Hunter downed Kathryn Bock of the host ERAU Eagles by a 7-5, 7-5 score to move to the third day of the Blue Flight which will be played on Sunday. In other Blue Flight singles matches on Saturday, Katie Stanford fell, 6-3, 6-3, to Hoy Gonzalez of Embry-Riddle and Magda Stepnik battled Flagler's Kelly Burge, but was defeated 5-7, 7-5, 11-9.
In the Gold Flight, Lorena Rionda defeated ERAU's Maud Mrad, 7-5, 7-6 (4) and Linnea Skymberg downed ERAU's Georgina Wood, 6-4, 6-1. Finally, Selin Devrimci got by Flagler's Lizanne Jinkertz, 7-6 (7), 7-5.
In Doubles, Devrimci and Skymberg defeated Gonzalez and Bock, 8-2, and Sasha Nionova and Rionda edged Burge and Laura Kelly, by an 8-6 score.
The ERAU Open concludes Sunday.
