WINTER PARK, Fla. – Mathilda Vidgren and Gabby Hesse finished top three in singles flight B as Florida Southern College women's tennis completed competition on Sunday at the Rollins Varner Memorial Invitational. The Moccasins will have a short break before competing in their last tournament of the fall season at the Stetson Hatter Invite in DeLand from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The all-Moccasin third-place match for doubles flight A between Minnie Kim/Vidgren and Hesse/Laura Vetter will be played at a later date.
- Singles flight A saw an all-FSC matchup between Vetter and Kim in the fifth-place matchup, with Vetter emerging victorious in two 6-4 sets.
- Vidgren and Hesse finished second and third respectively in singles flight B as the former fell 6-3, 6-4 to Georgina Groth of Rollins in the first-place match while the latter battled to three sets against Marie Debruyn of Rollins in a 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 third-place match.

"Those that participated gained some valuable experience in their successes and defeats," head coach Trish Riddell said. "We shall continue to work to improve for the spring season."
