HILTON HEAD, SC - Florida Southern College women's tennis knocked off unbeaten Catawba, 5-2, on Monday to stay perfect in 2019. The No. 9 Moccasins (8-0) lost two third-set tiebreakers against the Indians (6-1), but used two-set wins from Selin Devrimci, Magda Stepnik and Gabby Hesse in singles play to prevent a comeback.
Stepnik and Avery Hunter remain undefeated in singles play, improving to 7-0 and 3-0, respectively. Hesse made her 2019 debut in singles play in the No. 6 flight with a convincing two-set 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lauren Laughton.
