PENSACOLA, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's tennis seniors Lola Asis and Magda Stepnik cruised in the first round of singles play at the ITA South Regional at West Florida on Friday. Asis gave up only one game in her rout while Stepnik gave up only two games in her match. The Moccasins will continue with ITA South Regional action today in Pensacola.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The singles bracket saw Asis and Stepnik escape from the round of 32, as the former defeated Julia Enderink from Auburn Montgomery in a 6-0, 6-1 blowout while the latter defeated Eva Dirr from Montevallo in an equally powerful 6-0, 6-2 outing. Laura Vetter fell in her opening match to Sarah Wardenburg from Nova Southeastern in a 6-4, 6-2 match while Mathilda Vidgren dropped two 6-1 sets to Jil Engelmann of Barry.
• In doubles action, Vetter and Asis combined to defeat Gautreaux and Ozzor of Montevallo in an 8-2 thrashing to advance to the round of 16. Vidgren and Stepnik fell in their play-in to the round of 32 match to Enderink and De La Torre of Auburn Montgomery.

• The Moccasins will continue with ITA South Regional play today with singles action for Stepnik and Asis, doubles action for Asis and Vetter, and singles consolation action for Vetter and Vidgren.
