SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis team competed in the Saint Leo Hidden Duals October 29-31, hosted by Saint Leo.
The Mocs competed against Saint Leo University, Rollins College, and Flagler College. Several student-athletes participated in the duals, with doubles switching partners the various days.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hikaru Nagoshi won his first match on Friday against Jose Moreno of Saint Leo in two sets (6-2, 6-1)
- Despite close finishes his first two matches, Valentin Hertweck got a match win Sunday against in a third set tie-breaker over Luis Iriarte from Saint Leo
- Against Rollins, Erik Nordblom won a match 6-4, 6-0
- Oscar Sohl had a hot start winning two matches in a row against Flagler College opponents
- Matteo Feggi won his match on Saturday against Phillip McMurray of Rollins 6-1, 6-3
- In a Friday match, Brian Pham defeated his Flagler opponent in a third set tie breaker
- For doubles, a team of Hertweck and Chris Fok Kow beat their Saint Leo opponent 6-4
- Nordblom and Elliott Altman won a match on Friday against a Rollins pair
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Mocs have one more fall invitational scheduled before beginning their spring schedule in February
- The men's team had nine match wins in the tournament

The men's tennis team plan to compete in the Buccaneer Invitational this weekend at Barry University.
