LAKELAND, Fl. – Florida Southern College hosted the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Regional Championships September 24
th-27
th with 17 total teams represented in the tournament.
The ITA South Regional had many ranked teams in one of the most difficult tournaments in collegiate tennis over the course of four days with several Moccasins that represented the college. For the men,
Valentin Hertweck made it through the first round of 64 in two sets, before a loss to the eventual singles champion Alejandro Ibanez from Barry University.
Chris Fok Kow,
Elliott Altman, and
Brandon Pham each had two matches against tough opponents in the round of 64 and consolation rounds.
Erik Nordblom made it through the consolation singles quarterfinals before a loss against Diego Gonzalez of Lynn.
In men's doubles, Nordblom and Pham had early exits, with Fok Kow and Altman pairing up for a match against Barry's strong pairings.
Matteo Feggi and Hertweck paired to enter the quarterfinals of the consolation doubles after a win over Eckerd's Lasalle and Patel. Buttner and Rodriguez of Barry took the quarterfinals match over the Mocs to advance.
