MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has named Whitney Jacob as the Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. This is her second player of the week selection this year.
 
The Parker, Colorado native led the Mocs to a big conference win over Barry on Saturday but fell in a competitive match-up at Tampa on Wednesday. She averaged 22.5 points during that stretch, with 26 points during the game against PBA. Over the two games last week, she shot .720-percent from the field and .778-percent from beyond the arc.
 
Jacob had a steal and a pair of defensive rebounds in a losing effort against No. 18 Tampa. She followed with two blocked shots, a steal, and eight defensive rebounds to lead FSC in a win against Barry. Offensively, Jacob scored 43 points, dished six assists, and pulled in three offensive boards across the two games.
 
The graduate student transfer is currently sitting fourth in the conference in scoring with 160 points for an average of 16 points per game. Jacob is also sitting in 10th in the conference in steals with 16 averaging 1.6 per game, and 12th with rebounding for 42 defensive rebounds tallying 57 overall for an average of 5.7. 
 
The Mocs will continue their homestand on Wednesday for another SSC competition against Florida Tech.
