MACON, Ga. - The Florida Southern College women's tennis team traveled to Macon, GA to compete in the rescheduled Mercer Gridiron Classic.
The women's tennis team concluded the fall portion of their 2022-2023 schedule with a busy weekend as they sharpened up for their spring season.
Friday saw a strong performance from the Mocs as
Olivia Bryant, Lai Pasini,
Maxima Ellenberg,
Vivien Charvatova,
Jolie Miller,
Isabella Bolivar Garces,
Kelly Klaren, and
Kennedi Brown all won their first-round singles matches.
Olivia Bryant also won her second match on Friday.
In Friday's doubles play the pairing of
Laura Vetter and
Laia Pasini won their match as did the pairing of
Jolie Miller and
Maxima Ellenberg.
Saturday was a solid day for a few Mocs as Bryant won her third-round match and moved on to the Flight A East final and
Laura Vetter picked up a win in her Flight B South Semifinal.
In doubles play on Saturday Vetter / Pasini won their North semifinal match, and Charvatova / Klaren, Miller / Ellenberg, and Bolivar Garces / Brown all won their doubles matches on Saturday.
The competition wrapped up on Sunday with a strong performance from Bryant in the Flight A East Final and a number of hard-fought doubles matches.
Now that the Florida Southern Mocs' fall season has wrapped up, they will look forward to the release of their Spring Schedule and the road to the NCAA Regional and National Tournament in 2023.
