SAINT LEO, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's basketball fought hard against the #20/24 Lee University Flames on Friday afternoon but fell 97-79 to their nationally-ranked opponent.
The Mocs trailed the Flames 67-65 going into the fourth quarter but unfortunately fell victim to Lee's elite offensive system in the final quarter.

In the opening quarter, the Flames jumped out to a quick lead. Initially, the two teams played some back-and-forth basketball, but with just a few minutes remaining in the quarter, the Flames went on a big run that allowed them to take a 22-13 lead.
The Mocs recovered from the deficit with a huge second quarter that saw them out-score the Flames 26-24. Shell's nine points in the quarter helped propel FSC back into contention with the Flames although they still trailed 46-39 going into the locker room at the half.
In the second half, the Mocs worked relentlessly to get the game back in their favor, which quickly paid off. With 1:53 remaining in the third quarter, Shell knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game at 62-62. Moments later, transfer
Maria Llorente scored to take the lead. They ended the quarter down by just two points, but the Flames ran away with it in the final quarter.
