The Bucs attacked first in the top of the first with back-to-back singles from the leadoff hitters to get into scoring position early. Barry loaded the bases and scored two runs. With only one out, the Bucs continued to add to their early lead capitalizing with seven runs before the Mocs could get the third out.

Jadin Dewith reached first on a single to left field and later scored off a double from Kelsey Peck to put the Mocs on the board 7-1 in the bottom of the third. Kiki Morris singled up the middle for the second time of the game and moved around the bases off a single from Destiny Colgate to put Morris in scoring position. Morris put the final run on the board for the Mocs, scoring on a double to center field from Myah Moy.

Barry scored insurance runs in the top of the sixth and seventh to end the first game of the doubleheader with a 9-2 advantage.

Despite the outcome the Mocs outhit the Bucs 10-to-8. FSC was led by Colgate, Moy, Morris, and Dewith each with two hits.
