BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Southern College softball continued play in the Sunshine State Conference with a doubleheader against Lynn, winning in game one 7 -1, and later fell in game two 3-0 on Thursday afternoon at the Lynn Softball Field.

Destiny Colgate started off the Moccasins in the top of the first with a single to left field that advanced
Kelsey Peck to second base.
Myah Moy followed with an RBI double to left field, advancing Colgate to third with Peck scoring the first run of the game.
Mariah Rodriguez flew out to the right-field with a sacrifice fly, advancing Colgate to score.
Maddi Conner singled to right-center for an RBI allowing Moy to score the third run, to close out the inning for the Mocs with a 3-1 advantage after one.
Leadoff for the Mocs in the top of the fourth was
Kiki Morris who singled to third base and later stole second to get into scoring position.
Jadin Dewith and Moy both followed Morris with back-to-back singles to load the bases. M. Rodriguez scored two more runs for Southern on a single to right field to bring their lead up to 5-1.
In the top of the seventh M. Rodriguez started the Mocs out with a single to right field.
Victoria Rodriguez doubled to left field with an RBI scoring Conner.
Jessica Bryson singled to left field and Rodriguez scored the seventh run for the Moccasins.
The Mocs kept their lead of 7–1 in the final inning winning game one of the doubleheader against Lynn University.
Lane Edgington collected her fourth win of the season pitching two innings and striking out two.

Lynn found their momentum to start the second game putting a run on the board in the bottom of the first. Southern was unable to get a hit until the top of the sixth but the Fighting Knights already scored three for a 3-0 lead.
Macayla Brady stepped in to pinch-hit and got the first hit of the game with a single to left field.
The second and final hit for the Mocs came from another pinch hitter
Leanna Kelly singling to center field to try and get a rally going. Unfortunately for FSC game two went to Lynn for their SSC win.

The Moc will close out their SSC series tomorrow against the Fighting Knights. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
