  • The Florida Southern men picked up their first individual victory of the season during the opening meet of the year in Gainesville as junior Owen Allen took home the title in the 3,000m at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational. Allen will be back in action this week competing in both the mile and 5K. The Mocs will send 11 competitors to the event and will compete in five separate events.
  • Freshman Luke Reeves will be attempting to run the fastest 600m time in Florida Southern history as he looks to establish an official FSC Indoor Track record in the event while fellow freshmen Caleb Brady and Chris Colavita look to become just the third and fourth freshmen to crack 15:00 minutes in the 5K.
  • The Florida Southern women picked up a pair of top-five finishes at their indoor track debut. The women will be sending 10 competitors to Gainesville to compete in a total of six different events including the distance medley relay (DMR).
  • Mussante and Fluman will both be in action with Fluman taking on the 3K once again while Mussante will compete in the mile as well as run the 1200m leg in the DMR. Mussante will be joined on the DMR by freshman Caitlin Beery, junior Jinia Johnson, and sophomore Mya Stam.

  • No. 16 Florida Southern men take on the Panthers in the regular season finale after a close meet against NJCAA national champion Indian River State College. Despite the loss, Keith Peristeridis had a great meet where he won two individual events, his third straight meet where he won each of the individual events he competed in. The B standard time in the 500 free and a 200 free event win led to his repeat as SSC Men's Swimmer of the Week, and third overall award this season (a new program record for a single season). Other event winners at Indian River State College included Matteo Zampese in the 100 breast, Cameron Lai-Harris in the 50 free, Brandon Wilson in 200 IM, and Nicko Peristeridis in the 200 breast.
  • No. 23 Florida Southern women go up against both Florida Tech and the University of Miami in this week's meet, after a loss to Indian River State College last week. Erin McCann led the way with an event win in the 200 free, an event she already has a B standard time in. Despite the meet loss, several Mocs had podium finishes, including second place for Olivia Miles (1000 free), Teagan Michalek in the 100 back, Elizabeth Sikes in the 200 fly, McCann in the 500 free, and Sikes again in the 100 fly. With the final meet before SSC Championships, the Mocs have six athletes with a B standard time. McCann (200 free, 500 free) and Miles (500 free, 400 IM) lead with two B standard times. Maja Eriksson has one in the 500 free, Emily Peck in the 200 breast, and Allie Brinton and Sikes each in the 200 fly.
  • Florida Tech men are registering votes in the latest CSCAA poll, and still looking for another conference win this season. The Panthers beat Lynn early in the season but have since lost to Lynn in a rematch two weeks ago, and Saint Leo last Saturday. During the November Panther Invitational, the Panthers finished third of four teams, including Florida Southern men who placed second. In their last meet against the Lions, the Panthers had event wins in the 500 free and 100 breast, with several other podium finishes. Florida Tech's David Armstrong had an earlier competition in the CSCAA Collegiate Open Water National Championship, where he finished 46th in the 98-man field. Panthers had three other finishers as well.
  • Florida Tech women have not won a conference meet this season, after two losses against Lynn, and another against Saint Leo last week. Against the Lions, Florida Tech had its closest scoring meet, only losing 113-88 and several podium finishes. So far this season, the Panthers have a few B standard times, including Harper Powell in the 50 free, Nicole Rautenberg in the 100 free, and Katherine Helminiak in the 500 free.
  • The University of Miami women head to Melbourne to compete against the Mocs and Panthers for a great opportunity against another division. The Hurricanes have had a great season this year, with wins against Florida Gulf Coast two weeks ago, and other wins against Houston, Boston College, and Army. Their only dual meet loss came against Northwestern in December. Miami had a great fourth place finish this season at the Collegiate Open Water National Championships, with a diving team, although not competing against the Mocs, that had Max Flory named ACC Men's Diver of the Week in November. A great program in Miami will be a great test for Division II opponents Florida Tech and Florida Southern.
  • HISTORY: Florida Tech and Florida Southern have competed against each other many times in their career, with both the Mocs men and women undefeated against the Panthers in dual meets. Earlier this season, the men placed second in the Panther Invitational, ahead of the Panthers, as Florida Southern's women's team won the Panther Invitational in the four-team field. This will be the first time that the women face Miami, but have faced Division I competition already this year, with a quad meet against Florida State, West Florida, and North Florida in October. The Mocs opened the season against Arkansas women back in September, where they lost a close battle against a top-10 DI opponent.
