FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Florida Southern College women's tennis team concluded its fall schedule by competing in the Nova Southeastern Invite. Nova Southeastern hosted the event this past weekend at the NSU Tennis Center at Rollins Hills in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Mocs had eight athletes competing:
Laia Pasini,
Olivia Bryant,
Beatriz Costa,
Ronja Scheuermann,
Kennedi Brown,
Vivien Charvatova, and
Jolie Miller all competing in the singles. FSC also had multiple doubles pairings.
In singles competition, on day one of the invite Brown and Charvatova both won. Brown beat Keiser University's Yeva Kononovych 6-4, 7-6 while Charvatova defeated Florencia Araya 6-4, 6-1. On day two, Pasini, Bryant, and Miller won their respective matches against Nova Southeastern. Pasini defeated Lexie Weir 6-1, 6-4, Bryant defeated Freya Davies 6-4, [10]-[3], and Miller defeated Kayla Solagnier 6-4, 6-3. On the final day of the invite Costa, Scheuermann, Charvatova, and Miller all beat members of Flagler College. Costa defeated Laura Jipescu 6-4, [11]-[9], Scheuermann defeated Antonia Pfeiffer 6-2, [11]-[9], Charvatova defeated Eryka Kruk 7-6, [11]-[9], and Miller defeated Violet Apisah 7-5, 6-1.
For doubles competition, on day one,
Kelly Klaren and Costa defeated Nova Southeastern's pair 6-4. On day two, FSC swept Flagler College winning all three doubles matches. Pasini and Scheuermann won 6-4, Charvatova and Costa won 6-2, and Brown and Klaren won 6-3. On the final day, FSC swept Keiser winning both of the doubles matches. Pasini and Costa won 6-4 and Scheuermann and Miller won 6-3.
Now that the Florida Southern Mocs' fall season has wrapped up, they will look forward to the release of their spring schedule and the road to the NCAA Regional and National Tournament in 2024.
