William Canales and junior
James Simpson, of the Florida Southern College men's track team, were in action Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Florida Collegiate Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. Canales was able to secure a top-five finish in the 3,000m while posting the sixth-best time in indoor program history to lead the way.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Canales and Simpson both competed in the 3,000m Saturday with Canales taking fifth and Simpson coming across 11th. Canales' time of 8:47.24 earned him the sixth-best time in indoor program history while Simpson stopped the clock at 9:05.54, just missing out on a top-10 record time.

The Moccasins will return to the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe for the final time next weekend as they compete in the Celebration Pointe Classic Feb. 2-3.
