LAKELAND, Fla. – Senior
Mya Stam of the Florida Southern College women's cross country team was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region list. Stam secured a top-25 finish at the 2024 NCAA South Region Championship held in Huntsville, Ala. on Nov. 9 to earn All-Region honors. Stam crossed the line in 22
nd overall to lead the Mocs to a fifth-place finish.
A total of 200 women from 95 different programs earned the distinction of All-Region by virtue of a top-25 finish at one of the eight regional sites this past weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Stam turned in a time of 22:46.65 this past Saturday in Huntsville to lead a group of seven Moccasins at the NCAA South Region Championship. The senior has competed in three-straight NCAA South Region Championships for the Mocs and 2024 marks her first All-South Region performance.
Stam's appearance on the 2024 list marks the sixth-straight time the Mocs have had at least one student-athlete earn All-Region honors.

Carolyne Kwambai (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) and current graduate student
Ellie Fluman (2021, 2022, 2023) represent the only three-time All-Region honorees in program history. Senior
Emma Mussante became just the sixth Moccasin to win multiple honors as she was All-Region in both 2022 and 2023. In addition to Koech, Kwambai, Fluman, and Mussante,
Alli Tatangelo (1998, 1999),
Rachel Anderson (2005, 2006) and
Hannah Flemming (2018, 2019) are all two-time honorees.
The Mocs will now turn their attention to the Indoor Track season which will begin in January.
