HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Florida Southern College women's cross country team wrapped up its 2024 season with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship at John Hunt Park Saturday morning in Huntsville, Ala.

Florida Southern finished with 151 points for fifth place, just outside the top three needed to advance to the NCAA DII National Championships. Lee University (18 points) won the team title, with fellow Sunshine State Conference teams University of Tampa (79 points) and Nova Southeastern University (92 points) rounding out the top three.

Mya Stam was the top Moc as she crossed the line in 22:46.65 in 22
nd place. Teammate
Ellie Fluman finished in 22:59.85 for a top 30 time. The next four Moccasins finished under 24 minutes with
Emma Nales-Torchio (31
st – 23:02.25),
Grace Reed (33 - 23:05.53),
Emma Pfeiffer (36 – 23:11.11), and
Cheyenne Young (40 - 23:35.78) met the mark.
Emma Mussante rounded out the FSC placement in the 6k with 53
rd place in 24:05.51.

Florida Southern had a great 2024 season, highlighted by the second-place finish in the SSC Championship last month, the best performance since 2009. Mussante and Fluman had First Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors this year following the 2024 SSC Championship.
