TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Southern College women's basketball team traveled to take on No. 20/21 University of Tampa on Saturday afternoon in a Sunshine State Conference matchup. The Moccasins (11-9, 4-9 SSC) fell to the ranked Spartans (20-4, 11-2 SSC) 76-48 on Saturday afternoon.

The Mocs opened up the scoring as
Arielle Dabu sank a 3-pointer for an early 3-0 lead. Tampa answered back, going on a 14-0 run to take a dominating 14-3 lead with just under two minutes left in the first quarter. Lange stopped the scoring drought for FSC with a layup, but Zoe Piller quickly turned around with one of her own to get back the 11-point lead for the Spartans.
A 3-pointer from Tampa would make it 19-5, but Gomes hit her first three to make it 19-8 with just under a minute left in the first. The Spartans Mya Giusto went on a 5-0 run in the final minute to close out the first quarter with a 25-8 advantage.

The third quarter Dabu, Gomes, and
Domenica Zamora all hit shots from beyond the arc, but the Spartans offense scored 18 to the Mocs 11 to make it a 30-point game by the end of the third.
In the fourth, FSC outscored the Spartans 20-18, but the deficit was too much for the Mocs to fight back falling in SSC action 76-48 on the road.
