#11 Mocs in 5th at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. – No. 11 Florida Southern men's golf opened the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate with a two-under 286 before finishing the day with an even-par 288 for a first-day total of 544 (-2) at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
 
The Moccasins have two players inside the top 15 as Donte Groppuso is in eighth place at three-under 141 following rounds of 71 and 70.
 
Tyler Mistretta joins Groppuso in the top 15 in 11^th place at two under 142. Mistretta fired off back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1) to make up his first 36-hole score on the par-72 7,421-yard course.
 
Max Watson is just outside the top-15 in 16^th place at one-under 143. The Ashland, Ohio native opened the day with a team-low 69 (-3) before a second-round 74 pushed him to his 143 total heading into Tuesday.
 
Clay Tucker and Max Barile rounded out the Moccasins in the field of 90 in 46^th place and 75^th place after the opening day. Both players shaved two strokes in round two as Tucker shot 75 and 73 while Barile shot 77 and 75.
 
No. 20 Nova Southeastern is leading the team race at 565 (-11) following rounds of 282 and 283 and will open Tuesday's round leading by six. Florida Southern is tied for fifth out of the 17 teams at two-under.
