MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced its 2024 SSC Baseball All-Conference selections with Florida Southern College's
El'Rico Riley and
Rohsean Riley named to the All-Defensive Team.
The first All-Defensive Team honors for both athletes, R. Riley repeats as an All-SSC member after being named to the All-SSC First Team in 2023.
E. Riley earned an All-Defensive nod as one of three outfielders recognized for their defensive power. The senior fielder started 47 of the 48 games this year with one pitching appearance in addition to his outfield spot. With 138 putouts and another six assists, E. Riley had a 1.00 fielding percentage, no errors, and assisted on a double play over his 47 starts. At the plate, the Atlanta, Ga. native had 47 hits and a team-high 32 RBI on the season, with 28 runs in his 182 at-bats. E. Riley finished the season with eight stolen bases and tied
Jack Duffy for the most home runs on the team (six).
R. Riley earned his second All-SSC mention in a row after last year's First Team award and was named All-Defensive this season after a strong year at third base. The Winter Haven, Fla. native started all 48 games at third and finished the year with a .963 fielding percentage and only five errors in his 136 chances. He assisted on 89 putouts with 42 himself and 11 double plays. In his 177 at-bats, the senior infielder had 49 hits, nine doubles, one triple, and two homers, including a grand slam in this past weekend's series. R. Riley finished with six stolen bases and was right behind E. Riley with 30 RBI on the year.
The Mocs ended the 2024 season this past weekend with a series sweep of Florida Tech and outscoring the Panthers 46-to-15.
Jaiden Warde was named SSC Player of the Week for his efforts during the series sweep to end the season.
