LAKELAND, Fla. – Head Coach of Florida Southern College baseball,
Rick O'Dette, has announced additions to the coaching staff, including changes to the developmental team.
Â
O'Dette named
Alex Frapart as the head coach of the developmental baseball team after spending last season as an assistant to both the DT and NCAA teams. To further assist the DT squad, O'Dette also added
Caleb Adams, Tyler Donay, Jim Vida, and
Lou Pastore as assistant coaches. In addition to helping the developmental program of FSC baseball, Frapart and Adams will assist on the varsity/NCAA team.
Â
"We are excited to have Alex as the head coach of our developmental baseball team," said O'Dette on naming Frapart the head coach of DT. "He was a valuable asset to our staff last season, and we look forward to his expertise in our DT program."
Â
Adams and Donay join FSC as their first coaching positions post-graduate, with Pastore returning as a prior assistant to the DT and NCAA teams last year. Vida, a member of the Florida Southern College and Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame, returns to FSC bringing a wealth of knowledge along with him.
Â
"I'm really excited about the Developmental Staff," added O'Dette on the coaching additions. "They will do a great job helping our players develop — not just as baseball players, but as student-athletes and young men."
Â
Florida Southern has a historic baseball program, boasting nine NCAA national championships. In addition to the varsity, NCAA-sponsored baseball program at FSC, a developmental team was added in 2020, acting as a competitive opportunity for several student-athletes to continue playing baseball at a collegiate level.
