LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College men's soccer sophomore,
Darcy Moffat, was named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his performance over the weekend. The Moccasins traveled to Memphis, Tenn. for the first road contests of the 2024 season and returned 1-0-1 after defeating host Christian Brothers Friday afternoon and tying Delta State on Sunday.

finished the week with three goals scoring two in the weekend opener against the Buccaneers and one early against Delta State. The London, England native had three shots on goal, all resulting in goals for the Mocs.
The Longwood University transfer already has six goals during his tenure at FSC scoring in every single game so far including the back-to-back goals Friday against Christian Brothers and a goal to open the game against Delta State in the fifth minute of play. The 5-11 forward is currently fourth in the NCAA DII with 1.50 goals per game, fifth in points per game with 3.00, and is tied for third with shots per game at 4.50.
The fastest Moccasin ever to score six goals to open the season, Moffat surpassed Henri Tophoven who opened 2022 with five goals in four games, and previously Jonathan Radvogin who in 2013 had five goals over the opening five contests of the season.
Moffat and the Moccasins (2-0-2) have opened the season with the best start since 2018 with a 3-1 home win over UAH before earning a draw against West Alabama in the opening weekend at home on Sunday with a 1-1 decision.
Florida Southern opens play in the Sunshine State Conference this weekend when they host nationally-ranked No. 3 Lynn University. The Fighting Knights are currently on a three-game winning streak with their most recent win against No. 13 Mississippi College on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Saturday, Sept.21.
