LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's cross country team took first place in the Holloway Collegiate XC Opener on its home course inside Holloway Park Friday morning.
Junior
Christian Giller placed second overall in the 6k to lead the Moccasins. Giller completed the course in 18:25, just seven seconds behind the first-place finisher Adem Bouldjadj out of Eastern Florida.

Chris Colavita came in one spot behind Giller in third at 18:52 to place a pair of Mocs in the top-three. Junior
Caleb Brady just missed out on a top-10 finish as he placed 11
th in 19:22. The final two scoring runners for the Mocs were graduate transfer
Elijah De La Cerda, who took 13
th in 19:28, and sophomore
Cole Summers who took 14
th in 19:31.

Seth Augustynowski finished in a pack as they went 17
th through 20th just missing out on a scoring position.
Eastern Florida's Adem Bouldjadj received the individual medalist honors with a time of 18:18 on the 6k course. However, Bouldjadj's score was not enough to carry his team past Florida Southern who finished in first place with 43 points. Embry-Riddle and Tampa tied for second place with 46 points, setting a tough standard of competition for the Sunshine State Conference this season.
The Florida Southern men's cross country team will be back in action next Friday, Sept. 6 as the Mocs compete at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. (EST).
