ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Florida Southern College women's cross country team traveled to Romeoville, Ill. to compete in the Lewis Crossover. The meet featured nine teams ranked in the top-30 in the nation and a total of 36 teams competing for the title. The Moccasins took 28
th overall with a total of 698 points.
Senior
Rachel Hockenberry led the way for the Mocs as she placed 87
th overall after completing the 6K course in 22:55.87. Junior
Grace Reed was next to cross for the Mocs as she took 143
rd in the event while posting a time of 23:30.63. Freshman
Heloise Pinto rounded out the top-three for FSC as she placed 158
th overall. She completed the 6K distance in 23:42.55. Freshman
Reagan Chambless, who competed for FSC this past weekend, returned to action placing 171
st for FSC while posting a time of 23:46.83. The final scorer for the Mocs was freshman
Alena Pezzoli who clocked in at 24:07.73 to place 196
th overall.
The final two Moccasins on the course were junior
Emma Pfeiffer and senior
Caitlin Beery. Pfeiffer placed 206
th overall while Beery came in 242
nd. Pfeiffer completed the distance in 24:13.69 followed by Beery at 24:52.93.

th-ranked Chico State took home the team title with 100 points while host and ninth-ranked Lewis placed second with 140 points. Biola (Calif.) rounded out the podium with 180 points. Fellow Sunshine State Conference member and 20
th-ranked Tampa took seventh overall while 29
th-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic placed 13
th.
The Mocs will be back in action Friday, Oct. 17 at the Ed Holloway Classic in Lakeland, Fla. The women are scheduled to get underway at 6:25 p.m.
